Skylar Entertainment is a Public Relations company for the arts and entertainment industry based in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Formed in 2004 by Diane Foy, we increase the public and media awareness of musicians, actors, films, fashion, fine artists, events, companies and other arts projects through strong relationships with national media contacts. Our honest, friendly and effective approach to publicity ensures projects receive the attention they deserve. The company has enjoyed great success working with such music artists as Gordie "Grady" Johnson, Sass Jordan, Perry Farrell’s Satellite Party, Hennie Bekker, MINK, Phil Solem (The Rembrandts), Fernando Saunders (Lou Reed, Marianne Faithful), D.O.A., and Brian Byrne. Film projects have included actress Marianthi Evans (Fox’s Max Payne), documentary Yes Madam, Sir (Toronto International Film Festival), Actor, composer, performer Dr. Shiva (Genie Award winner for Best Original Song for Amal and the 8th Annual Female Eye Film Festival. What sets Skylar Entertainment apart from many PR companies is our early inclusion of online magazines, blogs and social media participation in our publicity plans. As we have seen in the last several years, social media marketing is mandatory for any successful campaign as journalists and consumers get their news and discover new entertainment from facebook, twitter, myspace, youtube, and other online outlets. Skylar Entertainment leads the way in advising clients on their social media initiatives to ensure success. Skylar Entertainment is the social media coordinator for the Female Eye Film Festival maintaining the facebook, twitter, youtube, myspace and other social networking websites increasing the festivals international audience. While continuing to represent Gordie "Grady" Johnson for publicity, we took on the task of the @gradyaustin twitter account to great success. Next up we coordinate publicity and social media for award winning, multi-platinum selling recording artist Hennie Bekker.

Diane Foy Biography: From an early age Diane Foy knew she wanted to work in the entertainment industry in some way or form. In that over 15 year quest, she has worked as a photographer, make-up artist, journalist, artist manager, label marketing/promotions rep and publicist. Diane brings a vast experience to the scene, having kicked off her career in photography followed by an 8 year career at MAC Cosmetics. Always having strong skills in writing, marketing and promotion, she went on to work with Fading Ways Music, acquired an Entertainment Management Diploma at Trebas Institute and was a Publicist Assistant at Smoke and Mirrors Promotions. Diane’s passion for promoting projects she believes in, lead to publicity being her natural and inevitable career choice and she formed Skylar Entertainment in 2004. After quickly establishing herself as a publicist, she returned to the Trebas Institute to teach Music Publicity. A variety of media outlets have interviewed Diane as an industry expert including CanWest News (an article giving advice to Canadian Idol contestants), Indie Can Radio (Industry Insider on XM), fyi Music (Queen of the Industry), Spill Magazine (Breaking Into the Biz column), Chartattack and Canadian Music Network.
