For Immediate Release: January 30, 2013; Toronto, Ontario;  Les Stroud is one of the most celebrated media figures today best known for Survivorman, the highest rated TV show in the history of both OLN Canada and the Science Channel US.  It was also among the most popular and highest rated shows on Discovery Channel International.  Stroud’s very remarkable life coupled with his advocacy for the environment and his abilities as a storyteller are well-known. Add in his talent as a singer songwriter and you have a concert experience unlike any other.

Revered on an international level for his harmonica playing, Stroud’s musical style is eclectic, ranging from folk-roots rock to contemporary art-rock (Peter Gabriel crossed with Dave Mathews). He has won numerous regional music festivals, has released three CD’s (one with the Northern Pikes as his back up band) and is currently recording his fourth and fifth albums. He has written all the theme songs for his TV series and is responsible for scoring for several independent films. With 11 Gemini nominations, Stroud is the only producer in the history of television to produce an internationally broadcast series entirely written, videotaped and hosted alone, Stroud is credited with starting a new genre of television known as ‘Survival TV’.  Survivorman is licensed for broadcast in over 120 countries worldwide.  As well as his own television series, he has appeared on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, The Late Late Show with Craig Ferguson, MTV Live and The View.
